About Us

Hi, my name is Marcell. I have been playing chess since I was about 6 years old. I moved to Sunnyvale and wanted to play over the board chess. I setup a chess board at the park to see if people would play me. There were enough people stopping by and playing that I decided to form this group to be a little bit more organized. We meet on Saturdays from 10 AM to 1 PM. If there is bad weather, we might be at the cafe across the street. Feel free to contact the club before coming. We started October 2024. We are still small. We had at max five boards playing at once. The players ELO ratings range from about 1000 to 1900. Hopefully, this summer (2025) we will gain a lot more members.
